HUAWEI
Founded in 1987, Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. We have approximately 208,000 employees and we operate in over 170 countries and regions, serving more than three billion people around the world. We are committed to bringing digital to every person, home and organization for a fully connected, intelligent world.
APRIL AI Hub
The APRIL AI Hub is the UK national centre at the forefront of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the vital semiconductor and electronics industries.
In today's world, semiconductors are the unseen engines powering everything from our smartphones and cars to advanced medical equipment and critical infrastructure, with electronics acting as enabling technology to design and manufacture the vast range from devices to systems.
We develop purpose-built AI tools that optimise design cycles, reduce costs, and accelerate time-to-market. As a collaborative ecosystem, we bridge industry, academia, and policy makers to turn breakthrough research into production-ready solutions.
Computer Architecture and Semiconductor Design Centre (CASCADE)
The Computer Architecture and Semiconductor Design Centre (CASCADE) at the University of Cambridge performs that addresses some of the grand challenges in computer architecture, design automation and semiconductors. These are critical areas of computing that underpin today’s technologies and drive the next generation of computing systems and we have expertise across the breadth of the area.
Through support from industry, CASCADE funds PhD students to address industrially relevant challenges. We fund students from anywhere in the world, and we particularly encourage applications from female and other students currently under-represented in the area.
