Highlights from REACH 2024

We were pleased to host the inaugural REACH conference - the IET's international computer architecture conference - on the 11 and 12 November 2024 in London.

Over two days, we welcomed over 100 attendees, and we heard from leading voices from industry and academia, exploring topics such as LLMs, key trends in AI systems, the future of microprocessors, Processing in Memory (PIM), neuromorphic computing, reconfigurable processors - and much more.

“There were top speakers from all over the world, including the USA, Europe, and China, and the atmosphere and social program were well organised.”

“Congratulations on the organisation and quality of REACH 2024. It exceeded my expectations. Interaction and networking were much more intensive than at traditional conferences.”

Leonel Sousa, Professor of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Lisboa

"REACH 2024 marked the beginning of an exciting series of events on emerging computer architectures. Yet, on this first edition, the topics went well beyond computer architecture, covering AI, compilers, and systems in the broader sense.

"The attendance was an interesting mix of researchers from both industry and academia, with discussions that brought many insights on how to drive academic research  by the practical challenges faced in industry. A pleasure to listen to the talks and to exchange ideas during the breaks."

Alexandra Jimborean, Ramon y Cajal Researcher, University of Murcia
